APPLICATION:

The valves are used to charge and evacuate air conditioning systems or to check the pressures within them using appropriate instruments. These are self-acting needle valves, similar to pneumatic tyre valves. The pre-tension force of the spring keeps the valve needle in the closed position. When the service hose is connected, the pin located in the hose connection pushes the needle past the spring force and opens the valve.

WHEN TO REPLACE / HOW TO CHOOSE:

Leaks usually occur at the service port; often, simply replacing the internal valve is sufficient. This usually happens when the air conditioning’s cooling performance drops and the valve ‘sweats’, i.e. water droplets appear on it as a result of the pressure difference.

Service valves are selected based on the appearance and dimensions of the original component.
