Cylinder honing

Cylinder honing is a process in which, thanks to the use of a precision honing machine and the selection of appropriate grinding stones, the cylinder profile is smoothed. During operation, the piston and rings create an uneven and far-from-ideal cylinder shape on the Nicasil or cast iron surface of the sleeve.
