The GL-2 paint thickness gauge is an innovative solution featuring an LED indicator that signals whether the paintwork is original, too thick, or whether body filler has been used. The device is based on a modern, high-speed processor. The LED ASSISTANT function informs the vehicle inspector whether the car has undergone bodywork and paint repairs. When the function is activated, the gauge uses an LED to indicate the condition of the bodywork: LED off – paintwork is correct; LED flashing – second layer of paint; LED lit continuously – filler or multiple layers of paint. The manufacturer reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of intervals when updating the device. It should be noted that the ASSISTANT function is intended solely to aid in the interpretation of measurements; it cannot serve as the basis for a definitive answer to the question of whether the car has undergone bodywork and paint repairs. Nevertheless, many people assessing cars do not really know what a given paint thickness signifies, which is why this function is designed to help with this. The measurement and all functions are shown on the LCD display. The measurement resolution is 10µm and the measurement range is from 0µm to 2100µm. The gauge has a zeroing (calibration) function; a zeroing plate is included. Operating the gauge is very intuitive. The device is manufactured entirely in Poland.
