Charger for charging and jump-starting 6 and 12-volt batteries: WET, AGM, GEL, MF, EFB, LFP. 230V mains supply, charging voltage 6/12 V, charging current 20 A. The charger features a microprocessor-based control system, ensuring automatic transition to trickle charge mode once the required battery voltage is reached, and automatic resumption of charging when the battery voltage drops. The SPRINT 20 PRO has 3 charging modes:

• AGM/STD – WET, AGM, MF and EFB lead-acid batteries
• GEL – gel batteries
• LFP – lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries

For each battery type, you can choose between maximum charging current or automatic mode. The unit is equipped with a digital display which, depending on the selected mode, can show: charging voltage, charging current or battery charge level (%). REPAIR function – Once the battery is connected and charging mode is activated, the charger will ‘check’ the battery’s sulphation level. If the sulphation level is within the optimal range, the charger will commence the regeneration process. For 12 V batteries, the device also features:

• voltage maintenance during battery replacement (13.6V/6A SUPPLY).
• start-up assistance (BOOST 100A).

Charging process The 9-stage charging process ensures optimal battery charging conditions. The automatic control system adapts each of the 9 charging stages to ensure the battery is charged correctly:

• STAGE 1 - Diagnostic – analyses the battery and checks whether it can accept the charging current; prevents a damaged battery from being charged
• STAGE 2 – Recovery charge – low-voltage batteries are pre-charged with a low current but at a higher voltage; heavily discharged batteries can be restored to a usable condition, ensuring a longer battery life; this stage is skipped if the battery is only slightly discharged and in good condition.
• STAGE 3 - Soft start – the charger gradually increases the charging current until the set charging current is reached
• STAGE 4 - Pulse charge – the battery is charged with a pulsed current (the pulse fluctuations occur within the DC current range)
• STAGE 5 - Reconditioning – a preparatory stage for charging in the bulk charge stage
• STAGE 6 - Bulk charge – charging with a constant current until a pre-set voltage is reached (14.4–14.7V)
• STAGE 7 - Absorption charge – once the required battery charge level is reached, the system switches to constant voltage (CV) charging and the charging process ends
• STAGE 8 - Evaluation diagnostic – automatic monitoring of the battery voltage after charging is complete
• STAGE 9 - Maintenance charge – the stage that maintains the battery (float) and monitors its condition; resumes charging with a reduced current if necessary.
